Fact:

A recent conversation between Adrian and I.
"Adrian, do you know a Hannah?"
"Hannah Montana?"
"No."
I made a banner for Spring.
It is fun.
There is a rumor going around the Relief Society that I am pregnant.
I was asked today.
Sorry folks.
Don't believe everything you hear.
I have two children already.
Their names are Lewis and Paddy.
Lewis had some old blue cheese.
He said he doesn't know when blue cheese goes bad.
I opened the canister and it smelled like ammonia.
I know.
I want a manicure.
Maybe a pedicure.
Adrian says my hand writing looks like Alan Fletcher's.
I had a dream that Chad and Amanda were going to have a boy.
But I had already predicted a girl though.
Maybe I'm psychic through my dreams?
I bought Ricola cough drops because they had the best packaging.
They delivered in effectiveness and flavor.
I love those Swiss.
And Swiss cheese.
And fondue.
I hate when you sneeze and your lip splits.
My Monster Voice is the best IPad app ever.

Fact:

Last night at 9 o-clock I took Nyquil.
I peeled myself off the bed to make Adrian's lunch.
Called my mom and wished her a Happy Birthday.
Went back to sleep.
I woke up at 11:30.
Only because Adrian called.
I have never ever ever slept that late.
I showered.
Pondered if I should eat breakfast or lunch.
I ate cheerios.
looked at some photography.
Adrian came home from the doctor.
Diagnosis: Bronchitis.
He started doing homework.
I feel asleep.
Woke up at 4.
Because my mom called.
It's 6:30.
I'm thinking by 7:30 I could call it a day.
Moral of this story.
I wouldn't be a very exciting drunk.

Mom,

Happy Happy Birthday! Paddy thinks you're turning 35. I'd claim it!

The Living Room.

Became a make shift studio. Adrian owes me BIG. Camera on tripod, foot on table, reflector in mouth, while holding down Adrian's projects, while pushing the shutter button. Yeah, the neighbors looked at me funny. But I got the job done.

Laura: "Adrian, If I was a mythical creature, what would I be?"
Adrian: "A hobbit. No an elf.....or a unicorn. What would I be?"
Laura: "A lawn gnome. Or a Weasley."

Sooo,

I always feel weird when I put pictures of myself on my blog. Little too narcissistic for me. And plus, I have a default grumpy face. However, today I made a skirt. That skirt. I've never made a skirt before. Mom, you'd be proud of my hem and it has pockets too! Oh and those are my favorite earrings too. The end.

The Other Day.

Adrian requested coleslaw.
Since when did Adrian like coleslaw?
I didn't complain, I'll change that boy yet.
Before he's dead he'll enjoy eating onions like apples.
He will!
Coleslaw is just the beginning!
Today was the day I decided to make slaw.
So there I am grating carrots.
Next thing I know,
My knuckles bleeding,
And there's my thumb in the slaw.
If you know me at all or where I come from.
You know my tolerance for blood.
It's pretty low.
Blood is just so red.
And irony.
And red.
I looked at my thumb.
I could see white stuff in the hole of my thumb.
What is the white stuff?
I got light headed.
RED and WHITE!
I called my mom.
She said run it under cold water.
I know this.
Wrap it tight and hold it.
I know this.
All I had was toilet paper.
The toilet paper wasn't working well.
My mom said to use a maxi pad.
(don't worry, I'm not embarrassed, see post below, I don't care if you're embarrassed)
I did.
She told me to sit down.
I did.
She told me to get my thumb skin out of the carrots.
I did.
Later I traded my maxi pad for more toilet paper.
Knocked on the next door neighbor's door.
Nothing.
Then the next neighbor.
Nothing.
Next neighbor.
Success.
"Aaron do you have a band aid?"
"What did you do?"
"Grated my knuckle."
"Let me see?"
...
"Oh, It's not that bad, I used to be an EMT."
"Oh, yeah yeah it's not too bad."
(that's me being tough, because come on I was raised with 3 brothers I can handle anything.
But it's so RED! and what's the WHITE stuff?)
He didn't have a band aid.
But he did have gauze.
He tried to give me 3 packages of it.
I took one.
You never know when I might need more.
I'll know who's door to knock on first.
So like a true farmer's daughter, I rigged me up a nice scotch/masking tape bandage.
Long story longer, The coleslaw was great.
Adrian didn't appreciate all that "went into" it.

so here's the recipe:

8 c. cabbage, finely chopped
1/4 c. shredded carrot
(or you can use a couple bags of the pre-chopped cabbage-carrot mixture)
1/3 c. sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 1/4 c. milk
1/2 c. mayonnaise
1/4 c. buttermilk
1 1/2 Tbsp. white vinegar
2 1/2 Tbsp. lemon juice
1 1/2 Tbsp. mustard (optional, but adds a nice flavor)
1/2 thumb knuckle optional

Chop up the cabbage and carrots into fine pieces. In a large bowl, combine sugar, salt, pepper, milk, mayonnaise, buttermilk, vinegar, lemon juice and mustard, and whisk until smooth. Add the cabbage and carrots. Mix well. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Drain excess liquid and stir well before serving.

I even snuck mustard into the slaw. That's right I'll have that Adrian boy yet! And maybe learn how to write in complete sentences too. While this episode was happening it seemed a lot more funny. Probably because of the comments that were coming to my mind, but I can't recall or write because I'm not clever enough with words and too much blood loss has made my memory fuzzy! ;)

Did I just use one of these ;) ? Yep, yep I did.

I'm.

Not sure if anything embarrasses me much any more.

Yep, today I took Paddy to the library.
Paddy toots loud.
The library is quiet.
I get weird looks.
I look back with a look like "Yeah, you fart too, quit looking."

So,

This winter I've really tried to have a good attitude about the snow. Snow is necessary and it's pretty. But you know those people that live in less snowy areas that keep hoping for snow and cursing it upon us. I would advise them to seriously consider a location change if they're wanting more snow. I've had my fill for the year. It's March, it's ok if it starts to melt. SO STOP WISHING FOR SNOW those people SOUTH OF ME! Have a nice day.

Adrian is used for scale purposes here.
