Just Because.

Happy Halloween!

Nyssa.

I'm so jealous of people with red hair, I think it is absolutely gorgeous. Nyssa saved my life today. She did a fabulous job. There was about twenty minutes of sunshine today, and I snatched it up. Thanks Nyssa.

It's Pretty Chilly in Rexburg.

When we went out taking pictures, it was freezing, with misty air. Kayci is a pro, made it look like she wasn't freezing. Thought a lot of the photos we took worked out well. I couldn't pick just one favorite.

Because I Wish it was Spring.

Even Better.

Kimber was super tough today, it was so cold. I think she looks really pretty here.

Kimber.

Kimber is so awesome, so is her sweater.

Katherine & Shawn.

Our other neighbors. She said I looked very familiar. Asked if I lived in the dorms last year. Guess I still look twelve.

Today was Out of Control.

Shirt: from the DI.
Hair Cut: from Hair We Are by Courtney.

Always look like Jason when I get a hair cut. It's true...I have no control over my hair. One side sticks up, one side doesn't.

To the General Public.

So in my business class we were assigned to make mailers...to send to potential clients. Bro. Burr said that art directors get hundreds of mailers daily, so the mailers we make have to be eye catching and beautiful. Well...this is what I came up with to make them eye catching...maybe not beautiful....but you'll stop and look at that for a while.

Adrian also said that my previous business cards were a bit confusing...that the general public wouldn't understand the concept of a polaroid...ok..sure...not sure who hasn't heard of a polaroid....So that the general public will understand my business card I might make these into cards also. But with a different picture of me...it's hard taking a good picture of yourself.

Excuse me for my incomplete sentences.

Just Because I Really Like This Photo.

I'm posting it twice.

Meet Kaitlin and Brian. They live right under us. Both of them grew up in California. Kaitlin and Brian are super nice and very fun people.

So, Lately I've felt like I've been in a bit of a slump. Having portraiture and working in the studio using artificial looking poses has stifled my creativity. That's not how I take pictures at all. I was kind of doubting myself as a photographer, thinking that maybe my ideas are wrong. But last night a portrait photographer came and spoke at the school. He talked about how photography can document real life and be used to show stories and emotion, instead of just being artificially composed pretty pictures. That's the philosophy that I have with photography. Photos like that seem much more valuable. It got me really motivated again. I took these photos today, while visiting my grandparents. Yes, I coaxed Paddy into letting me take photos. (That's something Julie hasn't even done!)

I Hope my Appendix Doesn't Burst.

So I took this picture.

And put it behind this picture.

To get something like this.

Worked on this instead of going to Paddy and Lewis's. I can't make myself go there today. Have to sooner or later though. Now I've prolonged it so long, now I'm going to have to eat lunch there...we all know how that goes.

Do I Love this Picture?

Yes Oh Yes.

Horizontal Attempt.

I'm trying to be better at taking horizontal photos. So this is a try. Why do people cover their cars? Where do they put the cover when they're driving the car?

Kate the Great.

Her eyes are sensitive to the sun..but not today. This image has completely flat lighting...and I don't care. I like it anyway.

Jewel Tone Tuesday.

Guess what this week's assignment was for portraiture. Yep. Group shots. Our portrait class is a happy little family! So book your family photos NOW! Or just get your brother-in-law that has a nice camera to take them.

Katie.

Portraiture takes over my life. I don't agree with my teacher a lot of the time. But I am learning technique.

Beth.

More from portraiture.

Our Guitars Unplugged Experience:

Laura: It smells like pot roast.
Adrian: Most concerts smell like pot. Mormon concerts smell like pot roast.

Oh, yeah.

I permed my hair. And I like it.

Megan.

My portrait class consumes a lot of my time. But sometimes it's enjoyable. A group of us went out to help each other with assignments. However, four hours later, we were all tired.

Next Semester is Looking Good.

Panicked today thinking that it was time to register. But alas, not for another month. But planned it all out anyway. I was a little too lazy to get some paper so just grabbed one of the many micron pens floating around and used my hand. But naturally I wasn't too lazy to get out my camera set up the tripod and take a picture of hand, load the photos, convert the photos, select the photo I liked best, adjust it a bit, save, it, and load it again. Priorities people! If you're tricky then you can decode my schedule and know what I'm taking!

Panorama.

That's Adrian's lufa...not mine.

I'm Not Sure.

If I did this right.

Have a Happy Day.

When I grow up I want to live in Rigby, Idaho.

In My Business Class.

Business class for art majors that is. It's pretty relaxed with lots of illustrations! My teacher wanted us to make a business card with our potential business name and logo. So yesterday I abandoned my Readings homework and worked on these instead. I didn't use Adrian's knowledge so I'm sure the type is wrong and lined up incorrectly and driving him nuts. Oh well, I'll ask him later..I was on a roll!!

They're supposed to look like polaroids by the way.
